A New Hall

Holford and District Village Hall has just recently finished a £0.5 million transformation thanks to:

  • The Big Lottery
  • Viridor Credits
  • The Garfield Weston Foundation
  • The Trusthouse Charitable Foundation

We have also received funding from the Hinkley Point C Community Impact Mitigation Fund, in partnership with West Somerset Council and Somerset County Council.

With an extension and major reconfiguration designed by Pentan Architects (Pentan.co.uk) and delivered by Qube Construct Ltd (Qubeconstruct.co.uk), we believe we have created a Community Hall “Fit for the Future”.

Not only do we have a larger, brighter and more modern hall, but we are also able to cater for smaller groups in our purpose built meeting room, the Fairfield Room, and our “Reading Room”, with its feature corner window overlooking the hills and sea. Our parking facilities have been expanded, too.

Holford is well situated on the A39, within the Quantock Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with views to the Bristol Channel as well as The Mendip Hills. We have immediate and easy access to the hills, either on foot, by bicycle or horseback, and Kilve beach is just a 5 minute drive away.

Our very popular village pub, The Plough Inn, is situated immediately opposite The Village Hall and has also benefited from significant investment to increase its capacity. Holford has The Combe House Hotel and the Castle of Comfort, as well as several B&Bs and self catering options.

Our Hall is within walking distance of our lovely village church and they would combine perfectly for a wedding or christening event.

As an added bonus, the hall is immediately adjacent to The Holford Cricket Club.
